Thailand and China strengthen cooperation in Chinese language and vocational education

During the 2025 Global Chinese Language Conference, Professor Narumon Piniosingwat, Minister of Education of Thailand, met with Mr. Yu Yunfeng, Director of the China Language Education and Cooperation Center, in Beijing. Thailand outlined its policies for modernizing Chinese language education and strengthening Thai-Chinese relations, and requested China to provide scholarships and expert support to enhance the skills of Thai teachers and expand the training of vocational students with Chinese language proficiency.

The Thai Ministry of Education Promotion also sought technical support to upgrade digital Chinese language learning. China responded by proposing expanded cooperation plans, including improving curricula to meet international standards, refining the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) system, exchanging teachers and experts, and jointly developing a comprehensive online learning platform.

The Minister emphasized the importance of Chinese language skills for employment in the Eastern Economic Corridor and proposed increasing the number of volunteer Chinese language teachers and establishing more Confucius Classrooms nationwide. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting long-term educational cooperation and providing high-quality learning opportunities to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world.
